These terms are the agreement between you and Kiitos for using MindType. We've kept them readable on purpose. By downloading, signing in to, or using MindType, you agree to what's below, so it's worth a look.
MindType (mindtype.now) is a project of Kiitos, based in Luxembourg ("MindType", "we", "us"). These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, govern your use of the MindType apps for macOS and iOS, our website, and related services (the "Service"). If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use MindType.
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) and able to form a binding contract. If you use MindType for an organisation, you confirm you're authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.
MindType turns your speech into text wherever your cursor is. Hold your hotkey, speak, and the words are typed into the app you're using. It offers two modes:
We're continually improving MindType, so features may change, be added, or be removed over time. We may also set reasonable technical limits to keep the Service reliable for everyone.
Some features need an account, which you create with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. You're responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. You can also use certain features without an account, with the limits that implies.
MindType offers a one-time free trial and paid subscriptions. Current plans and prices are shown on our pricing section. Paid plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe.
Each plan includes an allowance: for paid plans, a number of words MindType types for you per month; the free trial is a one-time allowance that does not reset. We count usage to enforce these allowances. "Unlimited" plans are subject to reasonable fair-use: they're for normal individual use, not for automated, resold, or abusive volumes that degrade the Service for others.
You agree not to:
What you dictate, and the text MindType produces for you, is yours. We don't claim ownership of it. You're responsible for what you say and for how you use the output, including making sure you have the right to dictate and share it, and that it's accurate for your purpose.
We process your voice and text only to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We don't use your dictation to train third-party models on your behalf, and we don't sell it.
Composer and the polishing features use AI, which can be wrong, incomplete, or unexpected. Always review AI-generated text before you rely on or send it. You're responsible for the final content that leaves your device.
MindType is a productivity tool, not professional advice. Don't treat its output as legal, medical, financial, or other expert guidance.
MindType types into other apps and relies on third-party providers (for sign-in, speech recognition, AI, and payments). Those apps and services have their own terms, and we're not responsible for them. Your use of them is between you and them.
MindType, the MindType name and logo, the software, and the website are owned by Kiitos and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use MindType under these terms. We keep every right we don't expressly grant.
How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Please read it.
MindType is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly accurate, or fit for a particular purpose. Speech recognition and AI depend on many factors (including audio quality, language, and third-party providers), and results will vary.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be excluded by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MindType and Kiitos won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 50.
We don't exclude liability for anything that can't be excluded by law, such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
You can stop using MindType and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service, giving you reasonable notice where we can. On termination, the licence in section 11 ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as content ownership, disclaimers, and liability) continue to apply.
We may update these terms as MindType evolves. We'll update this page and the "last updated" date, and for material changes we'll give clearer notice. Continuing to use MindType after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Luxembourg, and the courts of Luxembourg have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings, or requires a different law to apply.
